“Fear of Darkness” a 2008 piece by Nisar Hossain from a series by the same name. This series is famous for his fearless and powerful portrayal of the dark time we are living in. He uses the color black to convey the feelings of uncertainty, shock, and fear. A kind of fear works in our psyche. In the artwork, he drew the ugly and bizarre expression of an ominous creature trapped in the darkness of his society. The gesture radiates fear, it reminds of the life we are leading, a life without the freedom of speech, freedom of expression. A life devoid of safety, a life captured in invisible jail. This shows the chronology of decaying time and pleads for an escape.
